With 2 out in the 7th and down 7, AJ and Joe had solid hits to the outfield, then Richard looped one down the line that the LF gloved but then dropped. Johnny and Kris hit solidly to bring up the winning run. Harrison smartly and calmly crushed another hard single over the infield that bounced oddly away from Ben in LC, who recovered and gunned to try to get Kris, but the throw short-hopped Mark at 3B and kicked up over the fence. Harrison had maybe rounded 2B already, but umps rarely send the batter home in that situation. Mike took a ball and a strike, then hit a hard grounder up the middle that Steve deflected just enough, allowing Mike to beat the throw and win the game.
Old man Mike: 4-for-5, including the game winner. Old men Joe and Brad: 4-for-4 each.
Defensive star: Johnny in LC caught balls well beyond the midway point between himself and Richard in LF and himself and Steph in RC. The biggest one was the low liner to his left to end the first, which had been an 11-run nightmare.
Harrison was solid as always at SS, with 2 memorable underhand feeds from behind 2B to Brad covering, who barehanded both and turned, getting a double play on one.

Austin bombed homer #1 over the fence in LC - my gawd. Homer #2 landed at 3B on the other field. Those are so fun to watch. AJ crushed all game, with his homer going over RCF. Kris mashed his homer to CF? I don't remember - he hit hard all day.
Weird play of the day was in the 4th. Richard on 1B beat the throw to 2B on Johnny's 5-6 grounder, and seeing all three IFs out of place took off for third after a slight hesitation and read. They tried to throw to the moving 3B anyway, but the ball got away, allowing Richard and Johnny to score. I think.
AJ at 3B got a huge out in the first, a rocket short-hopper off Sandro.

Winning this game moved us into the semifinal at 6:50.
Brad didn't get a chance to respond negatively because the calendar invite didn't go out until he was in Japan, and he didn't return until the day after the game. In his absence, Sharks played 3 OFs with Johnny covering an insane amount of ground to no detriment.
Mike at P ended the game by spearing a line drive up the middle to preserve the mercy edge.
Richard and Annie scored from 2B and 3B on Kris's deep fly to LF (LCF?) in the 2nd.

This was game 1 of the tournament. Sharks must win 1 more to join the top 3, then win 2 to win the league.
Austin bombed his home run to 3B of the other field.
On the day, Kris at 3B was outstanding, maybe 5 assists and 2 putouts, mostly on hard hit balls. Harrison played for the first time all year as well, and he made one great lunge on a ball up the middle that he flipped backhanded to Abby awarely covering 2B for a force. In the 6th inning of game 2, Abby showed even more court awareness by shouting for AJ at 3B to throw to her for an assist instead of going to 1B.

Dave bombed his homer over LF, then 2 innings later Johnny hit the same ball but got only a single because we were 1 up. One Austin homer went to dead center. The other landed on the fly near 1B of the other field.
In the 2nd, Ana dove to her right and caught a liner for the out then doubled the runner off 1B.

Johnny homered to deep CF to lead off the game.
Mike struck out the really good Asian lefty for the 2nd out of the 7th, pretty much sealing the game.

Bridget Wiley subbed. Didn't realize she is full time on NGNL. She played great, including not getting doubled off 1B on Annie's nice line drive that their 6'7" 1B (Nick Borquez) barely speared at full extension.
Alex, still hobbled, kept the book.
Stephen's first homer was a good line drive right up the middle, and the second was a bomb over the LF fence that hit the tree out there.

Stephanie Tito subbed on less than 1 day's notice. Awesome. Poor Alex came to watch despite hobbling to the field on a bad, bad ankle.
With 2 on, 0 out in the 2nd, Chet hit a line drive that he thought was caught off the ground, possibly because someone called "Catch". Titan UP argued and got 2 outs out of it.
Austin launched one well over RF in the first, then Stephen put one equally far to LF right after. Mike's triple was just as satisfying, as Steve Broberg threw a strike on a ball that might not have reached 5 feet off the ground.
Bad D by Richard at 3B and 2B cost 2+ outs, plus a brutal day batting. Hopefully, a good punch in the face is a good way to break out of the winter doldrums.
