For the 3rd consecutive game, Richard assisted to Annie at C for an out. In the 7th with one out, two runners on (the second of whom reached when Richard could not catch Harrison's toss to 2B for a force), Fabiano singled to right. Trena fielded cleanly and threw to Richard, who'd come out from 2B and then threw home too late to get the first runner but easily in time to get the runner from first. The next batter then popped up to end the game with Tony Greicius on deck.

How did we win this game? We hit into double plays in the 1st, 2nd, and 6th innings, the last of which gave them the opportunity to bat. They had 10 solid players, one of whom was an Isotope who put a ball onto the roof in this game as well as the previous one. Ben Redfield had asked before the game, can that guy play with us - we only have 8, with only 1 woman. We said ok, then before the bottom of the 1st their 2nd woman Abby, who's a stud, showed up. Grrrrr... They don't realize it, but they're gaming the system. They have a core of great regulars who show up for their big games at the end of the season, and they don't dilute themselves to cover weeks like this when people are absent. Losing this game would have really stuck in my craw, especially since TroyT and I probably contacted 10 people to fill in on game day, and we might have ended up with 13 at the park.
TroyM at SS missed a couple of hard grounders, and Richard in RC dropped a very catchable ball, so the two switched in the 5th to good effect. No balls were hit to SS, though Richard relayed a throw to Annie at C to end the 5th, and Troy caught a deep fly to RC in the 6th.
Steph in LF played near the cones on Steve Broberg, but when Steve put it over her head, TroyT ran over to catch it for the out.
With the tying run at the plate, Mike speared a low line drive to end the game.
TroyM hit bullets all game, the last of which gave us our first lead. Johnny also had 4 solid hits, with the one in the 5th bringing us within 2.

Brad arrived after the first pitch. Aaron and Harrison in the middle of the first. Good thing we kept hitting and hitting.
Craig hit a grand slam over the fence in LF on a ball that looked like a warning track ball but kept carrying. Harrison had the back-breaker in the last inning, a two-run single that ensured they would have to go through their entire lineup to catch us.
