Troy Magney had an outstanding game on both sides, with a big homer to bring us within 1, and two diving catches in RC in the 2nd inning.
In her last game, Carolyn caught a good line drive in right field, possibly her first defensive out from that position.
Joe burned the left fielder and ran ~210 feet really well. He almost got in safely with a good hook slide but got tagged out on the cheek.
Welcome back to Annie, and thanks to Kenny for subbing for Mike, who's out for a while with a bad knee and then travel.

The top of the Dawgs' order kept scoring on us until the 6th, when Rich at 2B made a good assist on the fast #2 batter Fabiano to end the inning, and the 7th, when Mike at P caught a rocket off the #5 batter Kent to start a 1-4-3 double play to end the game. Kent may have thought Mike caught the ball before it hit the ground, for he didn't leave the batter's box much.
Rich also had two hugely important 2-RBI singles. The first came after two batters had failed to score anyone with the bases loaded, and the second gave us some breathing room in the 7th with the meat of the Dawgs' order coming up. Harrison also killed the ball, with a legit homer and a triple to keep us in the game. TroyM and Mike also each only made one out, and Trena and Carolyn each had two big hits.
TroyM at 3B lunged backhand and behind to spear a hard line drive that would have been at least a double. Actually, the entire left side was the young guys: TroyT in LF, Harrison at SS, Craig in LC.

Titan UP played solidly and smartly not trying to homer every time up. We lost two outs on the bases. Rich from 1B retreated to the base too early on Harrison's pop-up and got forced at 2B. Richard from 1B froze and got hit on TroyT's hard grounder, which effectively sealed the game.

Subs Ed and Chandini played well, both getting key hits in the big 5th that followed a generous call that VS went apepoop over on Trena's slow grounder. Ed also struck out the leadoff batter and at least 1 other.
Richard had a tough day at 2B, dropping two off-speed grounders and throwing wildly low to Rich at 1B, then dropping a third with two outs in the 7th but recovering in time to throw wildly wide to Rich, who stayed on the bag long enough to end the game.
Harrison turned a sweet 4-6-3 DP in the 4th off a fast young guy. Harrison also nicely assisted to Brad at 3B on a runner at 2B who chose to run on a grounder to SS.
Troy Torrez in LF fought the sun well to catch a few difficult line drives.
We got our first and only lead of the day with 2 outs in the 6th when Aaron drove Craig home. In the VS 7th, the #4 batter popped up, #5 doubled, #6 grounded out to SS, and #7 grounded out to 2B.
