Round Table: Brad, Craig, Schuyler, Dave, Mike, Mario, Stephen, Michael, Annie, Aaron, Richard. Dave paid up for his K.
Stephen homered over the fence just left of center field. Brad homered to center, and Craig homered to right. Just as big a hit was Schuyler's 2-out, 2-run single in the 2nd that otherwise would have meant a scoreless inning after starting off with no outs and bases loaded. Stephen's first double nearly decapitated the LCF.
Stephen at SS in the first caught a short-hop rocket from the #4 batter to end the inning. Brad at SS in the second went deep onto the grass for a tumbling catch. Chet at 1B in the 6th caught a high liner for a big out to reduce the damage that inning. Joe in RF and Richard in CF both charged balls nicely for flyouts, though Richard butchered at least two others.
The most epic play came in the 5th. On a solid one-hopper between Craig in CF and Richard in RF, the two collided at full speed. Richard ended up with a stiff nect, while Craig got a bloody nose and had to sit out the rest of the game on D.

Round Table, part 2: Richard, Rich, Aaron
Rich broke hard on Mike's liner to Dave Hansen in the first and was easily doubled off.
In the 4th with runners on 1st and 2nd, Chet fielded a hard grounder from Bixler, stepped on 3rd, and threw to 1st to complete a double play. Schuyler at 2B went deep into the 3-4 hole for a good assist and had another good play somewhere.

Aaron in the 5th got a hit for Annie by beating Steve's (at P) throw to SS, but Aaron couldn't slow down and got tossed out in the pickle.
Brad had an excellent day at SS, catching ~3 hard one hoppers that he backhanded with his head turned away.

Same day cancellations from Aaron and Rich, but it wouldn't have made much difference, for they hit well, and we didn't, plus we played poor D.
Richard should have been doubled off in the first inning, but the AFOS 2B dropped the liner. Craig thought there were two outs on Annie's infield single so got caught in a rundown.
Schuyler stole a hit for Richard in the 3rd by beating the 6-4 throw on Richard's one-hopper.

Scared Hitless had only 7 men, 1 woman. Slim at P usually covered 2nd, but sometimes covered 1st, as on Schuyler's groundout in the third inning.
In the first, Annie rocked a grounder up the middle that Slim couldn't handle but slowed perfectly to bounce right over 2B for an easy double play. In the third, Annie from third base tried to score after the 3B threw to Slim covering 1B, but Slim's throw beat her handily. Tony in the 2nd was called out after overrunning second base with the fielder's glove on him the whole time, though he seemed to keep his foot on the bag.
Chet at 3B caught a hard line drive and fired quickly to 1B for a very good double play.

Richard and Craig homered to RC, the latter more legitimate. Trena and Richard gapped their triples to RC.
In the 1st, Rich got thrown out on a strong, accurate throw on Mike's medium fly.
The turning point of the game was the top of the second. With two on and one out, Craig fielded a one-hopped in LC and threw to Chet at 3B for the 8-5 force. NGNL then loaded the bases for their ~#2 batter, who lofted one over Schuyler in LF, but Craig ran all the way over to catch the ball at full speed.
With the bases loaded and 2 out and many runs in, Brad smoked a hard grounder up the middle that Rich couldn't avoid.

The 4th looked like it would be even worse but after 5 or 7 were in with no outs and the bases loaded, the batter struck out swinging, and Annie threw to Joe at 1B to force the runner, who had taken a huge lead.
Andrew put one high in the tree for a double. Craig scored from 2B on Aaron's deep fly out.

Richard's friend Chelsea, her kids Avery and Derek, and Richard's son Clement watched the game and came to dinner at Round Table with Richard, Rich, and Andrew.
The game started late, and we took too many pitches in the first inning. In the second, a couple of good players showed up for them, and they tipped the game.
