Chris's homer was a monster line drive to left that hit the roof of the gym.
Josh's double off the fence in the first was another key hit, as was Steve Guzman's looper double down the right-field line.
Richard's homer beat the RCF, who was playing very shallow.
The ump made a tough but seemingly correct call on Annie's grounder in the third, in which the SS came off the bag for the 2B's flip a little early. The SS then threw the ball away, and Josh alertly scored from 2B.
KOT ran themselves into an out in the 1st. Seal led off with a good single. One out later, the batter popped one just over 1B. The ball landed safely, but with Seal running conservatively, the batter ran on top of him and forced him to go to third, where Rich (2B) to Frank (SS) to Chris (3B) got him out.
KOT's only run came on a big solo shot from Marcus Hoisington.
Frank had a solid day at SS, with only one overthrow of Angel at 1B. Steve G in right made a good catch of a deep drive.
Steve struck out at least 2.

Joe Guinn brought baby Jalen to the park. 27 lbs. @ 7.5 months. Giganto head - I think he's the baby at the end of "2001".

Mike crushed a line drive well onto the dirt of the other field for a home run. Richard popped his triple over the RF. Brad also scorched balls off the fence.
On Mitch's deep double to RC in the second, Richard conservatively stayed on first to possibly tag, but the ball landed past the OF. Richard then got easily tagged out trying to score, with Mitch on his tail to 3B.
The game ended on an excellent 4-6-3 double play from Mitch-Frank-Angel. Mitch also had a good stop of a hard grounder up the middle in the third, on which he looked to 2B but wisely chose to throw to 1B for the out.
Steve struck out two batters in the second.

Mitch and Brad hit their homers over the fence in LC. Chris nailed a deep one to left and another towering shot to center. Mike's triple was a good line drive up the middle.
Josh in LF had a good running catch to his left in the first. Chris and Brad were solid at 3B and SS. Sheila at C caught a tough pop-up to end the 5th.
Richard in LC got nicely toasted in the third, but he caught the rebound off the concrete base of the fence, fired to Brad, who fired to Chris at 3B to get the batter.
Mike pitched, as Steve was late to the game.

Annie sat out due to her separated shoulder but kept score.
Steve caught a sharp liner and threw to Mike at 1B for a double play to end the 5th.
Brad hit a low rocket to left for his homer. Chris hit an even harder ball down the line that maybe would have cleared the entire gym had it been more to the right.
Melanie in RC made an excellent catch on a low liner to her right in the 4th.

Brad crushed his triple to left and his homer to the rooftop in left. Josh followed Brad's homer with his own over the fence in left. Richard hit his homer over the fence in center.
Brad at SS, Steve Guzman at 3B, and Tony at 1B played very solid D. Steve perfectly executed a rundown in the fourth, making only one throw to Annie at C to catch the runner who'd rounded 3B too far.
In the first, Josh hesitated rounding third on the throw to 1B for Adrian's grounder, stopped, and restarted going into home but went in standing up, giving Kelly Perry at C a slightly bloody nose. Sorry about that.
Annie in the 5th ran out her grounder hard and tripped on the 1B, who was searching for the base with his foot and came down on top of the base. Annie hurt her shoulder badly by falling.
Adrian in the 4th got quickpitched for ball 1, took two more balls, and said P deseved the walk for quickpitching. He replied, you're in the box - you should be ready, so Adrian shimmied down to 1B.
Mike's wife Ann brought watermelon and grapes.

Tony showed up late and entered the game with 5 runs across and 2 out in the bottom of the first.
Josh and Richard homered over the fence, and Richard added another to center field. Tony tripled to center.

Steve pitched innings 1,2,3, and Mike got the rest.
On Annie's grounder in the 3rd, the 3B gunned to Tonya at 1B, who got hit flush on the forearm, then got an enormous bruise and left the game.
Richard took a very close 1-2 pitch in the 2nd, then put the next one deep into the tree.
Chris hit two monsters over the fence, then lined a hard single off the pitcher after fouling one deep over the fence. Brad also nailed one.
Bad signs: with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 1st inning and bases loaded in the 4th with none out either time, the Sharks failed to score. However, the 2nd had a good string of hits.
Mitch in RF had the play of the day, running 160 degrees backwards and catching a deep drive backhanded over his shoulder. Richard in LC also had a nice tumbling catch of Alan Kunihiro's sinker to end the 5th.
Mike was the big statistics winner on the day, raising his OBP from 0.250 to 0.600. Steve was close (0.333 to 0.625). Chris finally stopped drooling over the LF fence and started feasting, picking up his slugging from 0.667 to 1.556.

Steve pitched innings 2,3,4. Mike pitched innings 1 and 5, ending the first inning on a called strike 3.
Richard got thrown out trying to stretch a triple into a home run in the first, then broke too early for third on Rich's liner in the 3rd that Darrel Duley made a nice catch of.
In the first Richard in LC nicely backed up Adrian in RC on a ball over her head, holding runners on 2nd and 3rd, who eventually were stranded.
In the second, Brad at 3B dropped an easy liner, Mitch in LF broke incorrectly on one ball and lost another in the sun, and Richin RF got burned. Brad did get the second out of the inning on a tough, over-the-shoulder catch of a low foul pop-up.
Later in the game, Chris at 3B missed a grounder and claimed, "I'm just trying to fit in." Well said.
Mitch's homer landed on the dirt of theother field, while Brad and Steve put theirs over.

Richard and Tony hit very similar balls over the fence in LC.
Josh's triple was more of a line-drive double to left center with aggressive baserunning. Mike followed with a hard infield grounder that got fumbled and that he seemed to beat, but the ump called him out.
With Brad on second in the first, Steve grounded one to SS, and Brad distracted the SS enough to get Steve on, but then he stayed about 20 feet off 2nd to start a pickle, eventually beating the throw to third but oversliding the base.

Mike was on travel. Steve no-showed due to newborn issues. Mitch pitched and walked only ~4.
In the last inning, Kaos figured out how to dink the ball over 2B, though Richard in LCF rushed a throw to 2B on what should have been an easy force play, and Tony at 1B made a good run to get to a foul pop-up but dropped it. With the bases loaded and Kaos down two, Annie in RC made a good catch of the deepest Kaos hit of the day, but Fabiano from 2B scored on the tag. The next batter grounded one to Frank at SS, who bobbled then bounced the throw, which did not come back up.
Brad hit three monsters over the left-field fence. Mitch's homer went off the RCF
On Margaret's liner in the 2nd, Frank broke hard and couldn't get back.
Two outfield fielder's choices in the 4th, as both Annie's and Brad's hits could have been caught (especially Brad's).
