- Dave struck out three batters, once on fouls, twice called. Snagged
another rocket, not quite as hard as the previous game's.
- Marinators had only 8 men, 1 woman. Earl waived the automatic out.
- Last inning, the bottom two batters for Marinators got on safely, then
Curt at leadoff did as well. Richard Walker sacrificed one guy home,
with the throw getting away from Tom at 3B to advance both runners.
The key play of the game came when Wilson, who had homered to right-center
in the fifth, nailed a grounder down the 1B line that Joe fielded cleanly
for the second out. Next batter ended the game.
- Joe at 1B also had a nice assist in the third when with the bases
loaded, he fielded a tough grounder to his right, and Dave covered 1B.
- Richard's home run went to right-center and landed near 2nd base of
the other field. Greg's triple also went to right-center(?).
- Richard got Hrbeked in the sixth when he eased into second base
on his hit, then got tagged hard and knocked off the bag.
- Angel's batting average dropped 100+ points on the last day of the
season, but he and Greg starred offensively all year.

- First inning, Tom at 3B got the first out by catching a foul pop-up
over his shoulder. Dave at P got the second out off a hot line drive
by Lovato.
- In the third, the leadoff batter (he who painted a tic-tac-toe board
on his face last week against Swatm) singled to left. Angel threw hard
to keep him on first, but the ball got past Richard at 2B. The kid
headed toward 2B, got caught in a pickle as Rich backed up the throw,
then swiped at the ball with his hand to try to knock it out of
Richard's glove when he was meat. After the game, he stayed in the
dugout instead of shaking hands.
- Dave struck out the #2 batter looking.
- In the fifth, Angel gunned down a runner at home plate, with Annie
receiving the ball with 5 feet to spare.
- Greg's triple went to right field. Richard's triple went through
the left-field tree, onto the blacktop.
- Great hitting in the 5th by
Dave, Annie, Joe. Even Angel's out was a line drive that stayed
1 foot off the ground for a long way.

- Great sportsmanship: either Bustos (maybe Xavier) hit a high, deep
ball that Angel caught and the ump called out, Angel told the ump that
the ball hit a branch on the way down for a double.
- Frank looked like death warmed over, but still played a decent game
offensively and another excellent game defensively.
- Great hitting by Angel, who hit the dirt of the opposite diamond,
Rich, whose one out was a very nice catch by Tom Elliott in RC, and
Deb, who got three solid hits.
- Steve/Frank/Rich turned a 1-6-3 double play, and Steve/Deb/Rich turned
a 1-4-3 DP.
- Richard had a good catch of a deep fly in RF by Darrell Duley. Rich
made a nice putout on a high throw from Deb.
- Richard's homer was a ball to left-center that died in the deep grass.
- Bad spots offensively: Richard left two runners on in the 3rd. Steve
left two on in the 5th. With one out in the last inning, runners on
first and third, Estel hit her best ball of the day, which went through
Rich Orozco's legs but straight to second base, where Jon Boyte turned
an easy double play.
- Tough plays defensively: Estel missed a couple of pop-ups in
the first before Earl moved her to C. Angel lost Laverne Guzman's line
drive in the sun and may have had a shot on Bustos's home run except that
his knee brace slipped down. Deb couldn't handle a throw from Frank on
a play at 2B, and Rich couldn't handle a shin-high throw from Frank at 1B.

- Earl managed.
- Angel's home run came on a high and tight pitch that he axed over the
tree down the left field line, well onto the blacktop. Richard's was
a shot over Anthony Turner in RC that reached the infield of the
opposite field. Greg's was another shot to the other field in RC.
- To save B League's money, this game had no umps, which hurt:
- Steve, who could not work the ceiling but still got a K on a foultip
caught by Mario and a K on fouls.
- Linda, who ran for Rich and got thrown out at 3B on Tom's generous call.
- the defense, when Kelly called Jennifer Aiello safe on a high throw.
- Sharks hit into two double plays: Steve hit a hard one hopper down
the line in the first that the 3B fielded, stepped on the bag, and
threw to first. Linda later hit a liner to the shortstop that Mario
strayed too far from 2B on.
- Twice, Tom threw to Richard for a force at 2B, which Richard then
threw into the dugout.
- Angel nailed Anthony on the top of the head as he scored in the first.
- In the 7th, Greg tagged and scored from second on Steve's medium-deep fly
to RC despite Richard's indecisive coaching at 3B.

- Richard's triple was down the right-field line. Angel's home run was
another good line drive, this time to center. Otherwise, defense!
- Dave walked the first batter but more than made up for it with a
strikeout called, a strikeout swinging, and a strikeout on fouls. The
latter ended the game with the bat flying just past the on-deck batter
after Frank had pulled the Barry Bonds shift.
- In the third inning with runners on first and second, Gino hit a solid
grounder down the right-field line. Richard threw to Frank at 2B to hold
the batter, but the runner from first inexplicably tried to score. Frank
then threw to Joe at C to get the runner by 10 feet.
- Frank ended the D.C. 5th by picking up a hard-hit one hopper that he
probably saw.
- In the 6th with runners on first and seond and no out, Brad at 3B nicely
fielded a ball hit down the line, stepped on third, and threw to 1B for
double play. The next batter hit a tough gounder off Dave, which Deb at
2B stuck with and threw to first for the out.
- Congrats to Joe, who looks like he'll be the mission manager
for Mars Scout/Phoenix.

- Last inning: with the outfielders deeeeeep, Angel got a nice line drive
to left-center with two outs. Annie worked the count full to give Angel a
running start, then lined a ball off the Alan Kunihiro's glove (at P). The
ball was then thrown away to let Angel score. The bottom half went out,
hit, out, out.
- Angel hit a MONSTER line-drive home run onto the far basketball court
in left-center. Plus the situation was critical as the Sharks finally
caught up and even got a temporary lead. In fact, Angel had a hand in
7 of the 10 runs scored. Game of the season for a Shark. Good D too.
- Greg hit well also, with his only out being a tough short-hop by the 3B
(who crushed one of his own off the LC tree). Greg made at least two very
good catches running back.
- 7 Sharks were on hand at game time. Two more showed up
just as the game started; two more , a minute later.
- Rain started falling in the 6th and got moderately heavy in the 7th.
- Kelly Perry subbed for Ump Yours.

- Frank probably had an assist an inning to lead a very good defensive
outing.
- Annie was a hitting machine - 5 for 5 including the double that put the
Sharks on the board. Mario would have won family honors with a deep triple
that died in the LC grass, but dubious help by the coach at third and no
help from anyone else led Mario to slooooow down approaching home,
where he was tagged out by two steps on a relay from Tom Cresto.
- Tom's home run was a hard-hit line drive that bounced past the RCF.
- Angel crushed two home runs: the first hit the tree in center-left-center,
while the second landed between second and third base on the other field.
- Steve's two triples totaled about 180 feet, one down each line. The
second would have won a HORSE competition as Steve called "triple" after
he popped the ball up.
- Joe in LC made a nice unheralded catch off a line drive from the Gasp
lefty who hit the ball low and directly in line to Joe.

- Steve Guzman pitched. 9 on 9. Damn MER-B launch took out Joe and
Earl and Chris Jones. Angel brain-farted.
- We missed Greg: in the Swatm 2nd with two runners on, Mike Guzman batting
lefty, hit a ball to semi-deep center. Richard broke back and left,
spun around to his right as the ball sliced, then could not locate
the ball, which glanced off his glove and head for a home run.
- On the plus side, Mario made good catches in RF on balls hit in front of
him, two from Steve G. He also got an outfield assist to Frank on the
Swatm guy who rounded second but came off the bag when he pulled his
hamstring.
- Mike Guzman also hurt his hamstring early in his game and moved to first,
where he made a very good catch of a high line-drive from Richard in the
4th.
- Annie got a huge double down the right-field line to lead off the 7th, but
then got caught between second and third on Brad's grounder to short, which
might have been a double play ball if she had been on first. Thus,
the biggest hit of the inning came from Tom, who hit a solid single to
Sharon Kim, in RF due to their injuries. With Brad on third, Mario hit a
rocket to Xavier at 3B, who couldn't field the ball cleanly, then threw
late to home.
- Game ball goes to Deb, who had at least two good assists and hit the ball
hard every time up.
- Annie had the heads up play of the day. In the first Annie at C caught
a relay from Frank and almost
tagged out a runner, who went wide to avoid the tag. Before the next
batter, Annie appealed to the ump and got the runner out.
- Brad and Tom beat the center fielder on consecutive swings in the first
for home runs. Steve's triple hit the left-field tree pretty high up.

- Highlights? Hmm... Rich's triple went to dead center, while Brad's
was crushed onto the blacktop in left-center.
- Rushed throws: Fabiano Oyafuso from SS threw Brad's grounder onto
Lincoln Avenue in the 2nd,
while Richard from 2B threw one off the top of the backstop in the 7th
after picking up a ball loose in the infield.
- Cindee Dlugos's brother hit a 2-run homer onto the blacktop in left
center in the 5th.
- At 5 minutes to game time, only two Sharks were present.

- Gene Bonfiglio and Earl mistakenly thought the Sharks were home.
- Annie's game-tying triple in the first was a shot underneath the right
fielder. Brad's triple in the second bounced and hit the trunk of the
tree in left-center. Steve continued hitting torrridly with four solid
hits, three for doubles, and Suzy had a good rbi single over second base.
- Defensively in the first, Richard at 2B made a nice stop of a grounder
up the middle then threw it away. Tom at 3B took his eye off a line
drive that he might have turned into a double play but instead missed.
The Marinators also strung together a bunch of hits, including a 1 footer
by Dave Seal that rolled back into the batter's box and stopped.
- Marinators had 15 players.
- In the 3rd, Tom at SS made a nice stop of a hard grounder up the
middle, then turned 270 degrees counter-clockwise to throw out the
batter at first.
- Steve struck out Gene Bonfiglio looking, then later speared a hard
liner up the middle in the 4th. That inning ended with the play of the
day, a full speed running catch by Mario in RF, who pulled/strained
something on the play. Suzy also had a good running catch of a liner
in the 6th.
- After catching a sharp line drive at 3B, Brad threw high and hard to
first and would have brained Bob Mase if not for a good catch by Rich.
Rich also dug a tough throw from Tom, who had inexplicably passed on
the force at 2B to Earl.
