Steve's first homerun reached the blacktop, while the second hit high in the tree in LC. Monster shots.
Xtreme LMIT extended the game in the 5th when on a rundown between 3rd and home, Brad plunked the runner in the back.
Xtreme LMIT only had 9 players, of whom maybe 5 played against us last time.
Deb made a couple of nice turns from 2B though neither got the DP.
This game did not count in the B League standings.

Game looked like a blowout in the first. LC dropped Richard's easy pop-up, team scored 9, then got the leadoff Mauler out. The defense then lost concentration. Left-side infield couldn't pick up a ball. Greg hurt his groin and couldn't adjust on a catchable ball that landed past him. Rich at 1B dropped a pop-up.
Earl made a Cleveland-esque play. Scott Dunbar hit a low line drive hit up the middle. Earl from his ass speared it and doubled off the runner on first.
Running for Rich in the second, Frank scored from 2B on the catcher's overthrow to 1B.
Annie came up clutch again with a single in the last inning.
Rich got rbis on three separate at-bats.
Deb turned a 4-3 double play and pivoted a 5-4-3 double play, both outstanding.

Two double plays against us:
- SS caught Greg's line drive and beat Orlando to 2B in the first
- Steve bit on Chris's line drive in the third, tried to scramble back to 2B when LC caught the ball, but turned his ankle and missed the rest of the game.
Earl pitched very well for his 1.5 games.
The ump pulled a Denkinger on Tom's Texas Leaguer in the fourth. SS and LC ended up on the ground, neither moved, ump called out, both held up empty gloves but ump had turned his back.
Another killer: bases loaded (Annie, Earl, Richard) in the last inning with 1 out. Orlando hit a hard single to LC, Chris waved Earl home, but Earl got 10 feet past third, turned back, but was still thrown out.

In the second, Frank and Tom hit the ball about equally far, but Frank's rolled onto the blacktop for a triple while Tom's hit the angle in LC and died for a HR.
Steve's triple came from hustling on a ball hit into the left-field tree.
Brad scooped a hard ground ball and gunned out the runner for a big out in the first.
With runners on 1B and 2B in the second, Chris at 1B caught Dave Tseng's line drive and stepped on first for the unassisted double play.
With runners on 1B and 2B in the third, Steve/Rich/Deb turned a 1-5-3 double play.
Done with his CPA exam, Orlando played and brought the only fan, his fiancee Wendy.

All three runners in the first tagged up on Greg's fly to left. Otherwise, Frank would not have scored on Cleveland's clutch hit.
Managerial move of the day: with two on and two out, Earl kept himself on the bench at the bottom of the second, thus either:
- giving Richard an opportunity to hit with two runners on, or
- taking away Richard's opportunity at a grand slam.
Richard subsequently took the count to 3-2, sending the runners with pitch, then hit a line drive to center for the home run.
Greg scored from first on Rich's hard hit to LC. Rich got a bit greedy and was thrown out at 2B by maybe 10 feet.
Outstanding defense (and pitching) from Cleveland, who started two 1-6-3 double plays, the second of which was off a low rocket to his left.
Frank made three outstanding pivots on DPs, two off feeds from Cleveland, one from Deb, who played solid defense herself.
Tom made two good catches off Laverne Guzman's hits, both of which he had to turn and run for before catching.
Brad and Steve paid up on pitchers of beer at Round Table. Richard, Frank, Greg, Rich, Tom, Deb, and Joe thank them.

Deb had 3 or 4 nice assists from 2B without an error.
Gino (hard G) on Diamond Cutters crushed a home run to dead right in the first then lined one off the center-field fence in the third.
Rich at 3B made 2 nice plays, one off a hard-hit, one-bounce, short-hop.
Joe probably set a Shark record with 5 batting outs, then 2 outs on the basepaths as a pinch-runner for Rich.
Brad was sick, Frank was testing, Orlando was studying.

Hustle: on Rich's deep line-drive out to right-center, Frank tagged and scored from second base.
Orlando had a nice ankle-high catch in left in the 5th which he almost sold into a base-hit.
Biggest play of the game: Joe hit a tough line-drive to left in the 3rd that LF almost caught but instead knocked the ball far enough away from everyone that Joe cleared the bases and scored.
Frank's triple beat LF and reached blacktop.

With one out and the bases loaded in the 7th, Brad fielded a hard ground ball hit down the line, stepped on 3rd, then threw to Joe at C, who tagged the runner to end the game.
In the sixth with a runner at 1B, Steve in LF fielded a one-hopper, threw to Annie at 2B too late for the force, but the runner overran the base and was tagged out.
In the fifth, Orlando at SS made a nice over-the-shoulder catch.
After walking a batter, Cleveland speared a line drive and doubled him off first.
No extra base hits.
Biggest hit: Tom's 2-run single to gain the lead in the 4th.
Best hustle: Greg beat out a grounder to the right of pitcher in the 5th.
Orlando's first Shark at-bat was a grounder to the SS, who thought about throwing to 2B for the force but held onto the ball since Richard got a good jump.
Earl was out with a sore throat.

Errors by Tom in the 1st, Frank in the 3rd, and Richard/Joe in the 4th cost about 2 runs each. Richard assisted on Tom's error by yelling that he had the ball as it sailed over his head and rolled onto the blacktop. Frank would have ended the inning when he cleanly fielded a grounder up the middle and stepped on second except that there was no runner on first. Richard tried to get the batter at 1B on a bloop to RF but threw high. Joe at C retrieved the ball and tried for the runner going into third but short-hopped Brad at 3B.
After 2.5 innings of team drek, Deb's hit up the middle started the game-tying rally in the third.
Huge grand slam by Cleveland to dead center.
Nice shoestring catch by Greg in LC in the 5th.
