After a 4-pitch walk to Steve in the first, Richard hit the next pitch into the tree in LCF.
Steve: 2 Ks in one inning against the Marinator women, plus maybe another against one of their men. Also hit a line drive over LF onto the blacktop.

Steve gets game ball. No outs on offense. A called strikeout. Nice hustle to get the last Shark run by tagging from 2nd to 3rd on a fly to left.
Mindy probably was involved in a third of all the defensive outs. Very nice defense, and a nice hit up the middle in the 6th.
Tom McCarthy hit a smoking line drive to right for his second hit.

OAO had not won a game before this one.
Kobie and Richard both struggled for two innings at SS before Frank stopped the bleeding. If his arm isn't falling off, the job is his.
Kobie made a nice throw from LF to Deb at C in the third to get a runner trying to score from second on a single.
Offensive player of the game: must we have one? If so, it'd be ChrisJ, who did not make an out when the game was close.

Richard's home run hit the blacktop in left center. Frank's triple, a line drive over the LCF, was the most important hit of the night, putting us on the board and not wasting a trip through the top half of the order.
In Reckless' 6th, 1st and 2nd, 1 out, Tom in LCF caught a fly, lobbed it to Deb at 2B when the runner didn't look like he was tagging. He then did, and Deb gunned to Earl at 3B to end the inning.
Earl and Frank played solid left-side defense at 3B and SS.
Good hustle by ChrisM in running hard to first and knocking the ball out of the pitcher's glove and in not getting doubled off in the 4th on Earl's line drive.

In the 1st, ChrisJ, running for Rich, got plunked in the *ss on a grounder from Tony to end the inning.
In the Toads' 2nd, bases loaded, Richard in RC caught a short line drive from Dave Seal, then threw the ball away trying to double Kelly Perry off first, letting two runs score.
Our big inning ended when Tony thought there were two outs and took off from 2nd on a routine fly to left and got doubled off. In his defense, he hasn't played in months and did hit two good ground balls and a good double.

Cleveland's homerun was a towering shot into the LCF tree. Tom's was a deep drive to RCF.
Stringing hits together: Tom and Annie made no outs in 8 appearances and scored 5 times.
Big hit by Debra in the third with two out to score Annie and Tom.
Annie leapt from 7th in batting after the first game to #1. She also accounted for the first 4 outs defensively, two on sweet catches of high line drives.
Deb stopped the bleeding in the last inning with a nice catch of a low line drive to 2B.
Steve almost struck out the side one inning.

In the 3rd, ChrisJ nailed the 2B for 12 Pack, who was playing almost inside the baseline. Unfortunately, the ball bounced straight to the tattooed SS, and Chris had paused to watch the destruction.
Biggest hit: with two out in the 6th and ChrisJ pinch-running for Rich, Cleveland singled to center, and Chris scored from first.

Leadership: Earl went 3 for 3 with solid hits every time up.
On a hit to the outfield, Rich threw to Richard at SS who relayed to Earl at C in the first to get the runner at the plate.
ChrisJ saved Richard from a second throwing error in the first.
Nice debut by Deb: she and Mindy each came up with a huge rbi.
Last Gasp had 15 players.
Excellent over-the-shoulder catch by Rich in RF.

The 4th inning in the scorebook is a mess, plus the Gladiators chose not to bat, so I'm tossing that inning. We batted around an integral number of times, probably 3, which would mean we scored 21 runs that inning (Richard left the bases loaded). Steve and Richard hit the blacktop on back-to-back swings. Steve probably hit another and a double, and Ryan completed his cycle. Mindy went 3-for-3. Their shortstop made 5 or 6 errors.
Steve ended the Gladiators' first inning with a called strikeout.
No chances at SS for Richard in the first 2 innings.
Brad must swear to be a good citizen (i.e. shows up) after he gets his PhD.
